That's because GoGlobal sweats it out behind the scenes so their customers can enjoy their holidays in peace.

GoGlobal's IT Environment :

GoGlobal's travel page alone receives between 2.5 and 3.5 million page views a month, with over 30,000 unique visitors.Travel agents can also integrate themselves within the GoGlobal booking process seamlessly via the GoGlobal portal front end. That, plus customers from across different time z ones accessing their website to avail of services, means the IT team is tasked with ensuring un- interrupted, 24/7 availability of GoGlobal's portal. Business- critical systems like the online reservation system and the host- to- host integration system, need to be up and running all the time. Bottomline - there is critical dependency on GoGlobal's servers, to have the highest possible up- times.The health of their IT infrastructure has become vital to ensure that GoGlobal's service delivery stays robust and efficient.

GoGlobal employs multiple servers running Windows Server 2008 R2, along with several virtual servers running on Hyper- V, creating a heterogeneous IT infrastructure. This necessitates employing an integrated monitoring tool capable of providing visibility into the health of the infrastructure and apps running across platforms, both physical and virtual. Front- end web servers (IIS 7.5), application servers (.NET framework), Message Queues (MSMQ) and MySQL database servers also form part of GoGlobal's IT environment.
All these servers, hosted in a data center in Germany, have been replicated to have redundancy (Master - > Slave). While this ensures higher availability and uptimes for GoGlobal's portal and services, this adds an additional layer of complexity where IT infrastructure monitoring is concerned. Considering the complex nature of their IT infrastructure setup, GoGlobal acknowledged the importance of having a monitoring tool to provide complete visibility into the health and performance of their IT resources.
